We can help you live the life you deserve.
Our founder and licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Joshua G. Kellison, PhD, is passionate about providing best in-class therapeutic care to 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and families in Arizona. With the support of community partners and colleagues, Dr. Kellison has expanded his commitment to the community by opening the Sexual Orientation & Gender Institute of Arizona (SOGIA), a comprehensive behavioral/mental health center dedicated to meeting the needs of the Arizona 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Vision and Mission Statements
Vision: SOGIA seeks to connect, unite, and support Arizona’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community engagement and promote the well-being and healthy behaviors of individuals, families, and partners/couples across the lifespan. The institute will also inspire future generations of behavioral health providers and community partners to promote Arizona’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Mission: Arizona’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community members will find community-based support groups, gender affirmative services, and the highest quality evidence-based individual, family, and group therapies for those struggling with behavioral health concerns and that are supportive of each individual's/family's/relationship/couple's life goals.
We can all use a hand sometimes.

Welcome to the Sexual Orientation & Gender Institute of Arizona (SOGIA).
Making the decision to seek professional help can be a very difficult process. We will do our best to decrease the anxiety or judgment that may come up for you. Here at SOGIA we provide a compassionate safe space for you to share your life story, how you came to find us, and how we can support your goals.
SOGIA therapists will attempt to ensure that a person can share their internal struggles, painful experiences, and unresolved core conflicts without fear of judgment or rejection. Your emotions and lived experiences can be released carefully and intentionally so that they can be integrated into your inner ocean and calmed through understanding and meaning.
The first step towards this integration brought you to this site, if this sounds like some of the difficulties you have experienced in your life you may want to set up a consultation today.
We hope that a behavioral institute that specializes in two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, + (2SLGBTQIA+) can support the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities throughout Arizona. We also provide scientifically originated therapeutic services to ALL people through the Evidence Based Therapy (EBT) Center of Arizona.
Thank you for considering our practice!
