Bingyu Xu (she/her) is a Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Arizona State University completing her third-year clinical practicum placement at the SOGIA/EBT Center of Arizona. Bingyu graduated from Brandeis University in 2019 with a B.A. in Psychology and Economics. As an undergraduate, Bingyu worked as a Research Assistant (RA) at Massachusetts General Hospital’s (MGH) Community Psychiatry Program for Research in Implementation and Dissemination of Evidence-Based Therapies (PRIDE). As an RA Bingyu assisted a study that assessed the quality of cognitive behavioral therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder in large systems and resource-limited community settings. Upon graduation, Bingyu worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the MGH Home Base Program which serves Veterans and family members struggling with the invisible wounds of war. Bingyu has spent the past year of her doctoral program working as a therapist-in-training at the ASU Clinical Psychology Center, providing evidence-based individual therapy to adolescents and adults. Bingyu’s primary research interests are the outcomes of interpersonal trauma and ways of promoting resilience and recovery following trauma exposure.
In her spare time, Bingyu enjoys cooking meals for friends/family, going on hikes with her 4-year-old Shiba Inu named Maru, and using behavioral techniques for training and playing with her 3-month-old puppy named Charcoal.
