Partner/Spousal Support Group

Group Membership Requirements:

• Must currently be in a long-term relationship with a gender diverse person (e.g., transgender male/female, non-binary, gender queer, two-spirit, etc.)

• Aged 18 and up—if you are a youth please visit the One-n-Ten Center for 2SLGBTQIA+youth services https://onenten.org

• Interested in gaining general insights into your experience loving and being with someone who is transitioning or has transitioned

• Interested in gaining support from others in long-term relationships with gender diverse people

• Coping skills, communication skills, relationship skills

• Not currently experiencing active visual or auditory hallucinations

Partner/Spouse Support Group’s Purpose:

• This is an open-enrollment group so group members can join at any point in the year

• This group is open to maximum of 10 group members

• This group is a safe space for group members to explore issues that are important to them and where one can provide support to others when asked.

• This group is facilitated by a mental health professional whose role is to support group members’ engagement, group cohesion, to create a safe space that is antiracist and inclusive, and when requested by group members any behavioral health supports (e.g., one session may focus on mindfulness skills to help the process of lived experience and being present and letting go of a past that cannot be changed, letting go of worrying about a future that we cannot predict, and working on acceptance of the self and those you love).

Fees:

• This group accepts donations when in person (post COVID), there is never a fee

Meeting Dates:

• Every fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7pm beginning May 19, 2022
