Transitions Support Group

Group Membership Requirements:

• Must self-identify as a gender diverse person (e.g., transgender male/female, non-binary, gender queer, two-spirit, etc.)

•  Aged 18 and up (adults only)—if you are a youth please visit the One-n-Ten Center for 2SLGBTQIA+youth services https://onenten.org

• Currently transitioning (e.g., social transition, gender expression)

• If not currently transitioning, have transitioned and want to provide your experiential knowledge or recommendations

• Not currently experiencing active visual or auditory hallucinations

Transitions Group’s Purpose:

•  This is an open-enrollment group so group members can join at any point in the year

• This group is open to maximum of 10 group members

• This group is facilitated group by a mental health professional whose role is to support group members’ engagement, group cohesion, to create a safe space that is antiracist and inclusive, and when requested by group members any behavioral health supports (e.g., one session may focus on emotion regulation/interpersonal effectiveness skills to cope with a non-affirming family member).

• This group is a safe space for group members to explore their transitions in any aspect and at any point in a potential group member’s journey.

• Whether you want to gain support from other gender diverse individuals who have or are also transitioning, or you have transitioned and want to share your experience/recommendations with the group, this group will be a place for you.

Fees:

• This group accepts donations when in person (post COVID), there is never a fee

Meeting Dates:

• Every second Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7pm beginning May 12, 2022
